Boy Scout Troop 228 is located in Berea, Ohio and charted by the United Methodist Church of Berea. We are in the Western Trails District of the Lake Erie Council. Troop meetings are on Sunday nights from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the United Methodist Church at 170 Seminary Street.

There are monthly camping trips. Recent destinations have been Beaumont Scout Reservation, Camp Alaska at Firelands Scout Reservation, Camp Miakonda near Toledo, Mohican Wilderness Campground, white water rafting on the Youghiogheny River in Pennsylvania, South Bass Island, Camp Stigwandish, Top O’Ledges, and Buffalo Naval Park. We go to Seven Ranges Scout Reservation for summer camp. This is a week long trip beginning on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday, usually the fourth week in June.

For our High Adventure program we sent a crew to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico in 2014. We sent eight scouts to the 2013 National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia. In the summer of 2012 several of our scouts attended the Eagle Base High Adventure program in the Allegheny mountains of Pennsylvania. In 2010 the Troop sent groups of older Scouts to Tinnerman Wilderness Canoe Base and the National Scout Jamboree. Older Scouts also went to the Florida Sea Base in 2009 and Adventure West Virginia in 2008.
