Boy Scout Troop 228 is located in Berea, Ohio and charted by the United Methodist Church of Berea as a troop in the Lake Erie Council. Troop meetings are on Sunday nights from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the United Methodist Church at 170 Seminary Street.

There are monthly camping trips. Recent destinations have been Beaumont Scout Reservation, Camp Alaska at Firelands Scout Reservation, Camp Pee Wee near Lodi, Mohican Wilderness Campground, white water rafting on the Youghiogheny River in Pennsylvania, South Bass Island, Camp Stigwandish, Top O’Ledges, and the Buffalo Naval Park.

We go to Seven Ranges Scout Reservation for summer camp. This is a week long trip beginning on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday, usually the fourth week in June.

For our High Adventure program we sent a crew to Seabase in Florida in 2018, to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico in 2014. We sent scouts to the 2017 National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia. In the summer of 2012 several of our scouts attended the Eagle Base High Adventure program in the Allegheny mountains of Pennsylvania.

Lots of information to read. Thank you to the parents who stepped up and are going camping with scouts and those who offered to drive. Our troop is awesome because of the parent dedication to the program. We do need help from time to time. If you can't camp with scouts we ask that you volunteer to drive. What we don't want to see is some parents never offer to help while other parents go over and beyond. It's a group effort. All of us have full-time jobs, other children at home, and commitments but if we all pull together and take some of the load off each other it will benefit the scouts. We appreciate everyone's understanding and we appreciate you. These are an amazing group of scouts and we want to give them all the support they need and a top-notch program.

No meeting Sunday, Happy Mlother's Day - Flower order delivery - Summer camp

Posted on May 4 2021 - 9:44am

Our flower sale was a success and because it is such a large order we had to have it delivered. Deans couldn't do Sunday. The new delivery date to the Miller home is Saturday, May 15th. If you ordered flowers or want to help your fellow scouts please be at the Miller home at 9:30 am. Coffee, juice, and donuts will be available. The truck should arrive by 10 am. Scouts and parents will help unload flowers and sort orders. The good news is that customers can get their purchases sooner.
