Boy Scout Troop 228 is located in Berea, Ohio and charted by the American Legion Post 91 of Berea as a troop in Lake Erie Council. Troop meetings are on Sunday nights from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the United Methodist Church at 170 Seminary Street.
There are monthly camping trips. Recent destinations have been Beaumont Scout Reservation, Camp Alaska at Firelands Scout Reservation, Camp Pee Wee near Lodi, Mohican Wilderness Campground, white water rafting on the Youghiogheny River in Pennsylvania, South Bass Island, Camp Stigwandish, Top O’Ledges, and the Buffalo Naval Park.
We go to Seven Ranges Scout Reservation for summer camp. This is a week long trip beginning on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday, usually the fourth week in June.
For our High Adventure program we sent a crew to Seabase in Florida in 2018, to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico in 2014. We sent scouts to the 2017 National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia. In the summer of 2012 several of our scouts attended the Eagle Base High Adventure program in the Allegheny mountains of Pennsylvania.
